You can barely walk down the high street without seeing their distinctive blue-and-yellow logo. Originally known for their comprehensive sports betting capabilities, William Hill ventured into the online casino industry in 1998 and has focused their efforts on making continuous improvements to their no deposit casino offering. This has paid off with their increasing popularity with players and this week’s announcement that William Hill Online has won the eGaming Review award for Operator of the Year (2011).

Earlier this year the company experienced significant issues in their Tel Aviv branch of operations, with staff walking out amidst rumours that the online casino giant would be moving their centre out of Israel. Several high-level managers were fired and the troubles only calmed down when the CEO flew out to still the unrest.

Despite this, the operator has overcome the setback to claim the prestigious award. William Hill has plans to expand internationally, adding their stable of sites, and now offer casino games in 175 countries globally. It has also shown interest in the US market, purchasing American Wagering and Cal Neva Sportsbook Division for $40 million, and Brandywine Bookmaking for $14.25m.

With mobile betting on the rise and online gaming up overall, William Hill looks set to recover from its recent troubles to post a strong result at the end of the year. Well done William Hill!
