Following the Monday night win for Chelsea over Manchester City, the Premier League title is now open.

Online betting has seen prices on the various markets associated with the Premier League title adjusted to take into account the fact that Manchester City now lead Manchester United by only two points. What makes the betting more interesting is that Tottenham, assuming they win their game in hand, will only be four points off the leaders.

As a Manchester United fan, I am extremely happy; and have no shame for cheering on Chelsea to win at Stamford Bridge. Everyone knows that it is precisely at this stage of the season that teams win and lose the title; and I am hoping that Manchester City’s first Premier League loss of the season will lead to many more. Looking at Betfair Sports markets now, there will be value in looking at Tottenham to be finishing in the Top 4.

Online betting could become even more interesting if Manchester City draws or loses to the Gunners on Sunday 18th December. Even though City are at home, there would be no surprise if Arsenal pulled off an upset, especially with Robin van Persie being in top goalscoring form. Just as a side note, you might want to go online to Betfair Sports and bet on Robin van Persie finishing the season at the Premier League top goalscorer.

By the way, if you register now with Betfair you can qualify for £20 free bet bonus. Also, with all the football to come in December and January, betting with this operator could entitle you to up to £1000 worth of cash back!
