Playtech is poised to take the online casino stage with its latest acquisition, Ash Gaming.

Playtech is well known in the industry as one of the best online casino software providers and 2011 has seen it take huge steps towards becoming the standout leader in the sector. Just weeks shy of closing out the year, Playtech has acquired yet another company – Ash Gaming.

Ash Gaming is one of leading providers of online casino games, offering innovative products that are highly sought-after. Playtech paid an overall sum of £23m for the acquisition, which is expected to enable a broader distribution of high-quality content and add additional revenue streams.

It is the fourth acquisition this year and the eleventh of such deals that Playtech has made. Earlier this year, the online casino software company advised that itwas looking to raise £100 million in order to fund a series of ambitious acquisitions and joint ventures, including their venture with William Hill Online.

What will this mean for players? Well, very soon the expertise that the Ash Gaming team is known for should be making itself evident in Playtech casinos. Historically, Ash Gaming’s online casino games would have been allocated a tab in the casino lobby, but it seems that they will now be available on a much more integrated basis: within the mainstream casino, in poker and bingo side games and on mobile and social platforms.

Playtech’s campaign of expansion certainly seems to have paid off, with new games set to be released in the coming months. Here’s hoping it will be a smooth transition!
