No Red Card for Blatter

Sepp Blatter has confirmed that he will not be resigning from FIFA and has once again apologised for his inept comments over racism in the sport. This is not the first time Sepp has shown his ineptitude, as he seems to be inexperienced in a wide range of areas.

Some of most infamous episodes are as follows. In 2004 Sepp suggested the game remove the draw result, his reason being every game should have a winner - makes sense? Sports betting markets would have adapted fine, but I suspect supporters would have not been happy! In the same year, he also had the bright idea of suggesting women needed ‘tighter shorts’ to play football.

In 2008, we had his views on Italy’s Fabio Capello being appointed England Manager and his reference to the ‘slavery’ of Cristiano Ronaldo. Mr Blatter also supported John Terry’s affair (when it went public in 2010) with team mate Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend, saying that John would have been ‘applauded’ in Latin countries - obviously failing to recognise the moral implications, not to mention John’s role as team captain and how that called into question his leadership and judgement.

Most recently, in 2011, Sepp failed to admit to any crisis in football when answering wide ranging corruption scandals in FIFA.

In spite of it all, he has flatly refused to resign and sees no reason he should. Blatter expresses his wish to solve all of football’s problems - even though he seems to exist in a world apart from us all.
