Manchester United look set to have Shinji Kagawa playing at Old Trafford at the start of the new Premier League season.

A deal has been agreed in principle between United and the German club Borussia Dortmund, with fees set to be approximately £12 million pounds and could reach £17 million pounds depending the number of appearances and goals. The Japanese midfielder is now expected to confirm personal terms, and Manchester United expect this to be completed as a matter of course.

Shinji has done extremely well in the Budesliga, managing to score 13 goals in 31 league games; helping Borussia Dortmund to win the league and cup double. Alex Ferguson must have been adequately impressed, as he witnessed the 23 year old player score in Dortmund's win over Bayern Munich in the German Cup final. I am hoping that he will add an extra dimension to United's midfield; and ensure sports betting fans make good on correct scorecasts and first goalscorer bets.

In addition to the Japanese player helping to strengthen Manchester United's struggling midfield, Kagawa will be a popular choice with The Red Devils ever increasing Asian fan base which is currently estimated at 325 million! But make no mistake, the young lad will have to adapt quickly the physically demanding and fast pace of the Premier League in order to find his place in a squad filled with highly talent individuals who come together to play as a team. Only then will his true worth on and off the pitch will be achieved.
