Manchester City did the unimaginable and came back from two goals down to beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in the Champions League at the the Allianz Arena.

Sports betting fans supporting Manchester City will be laughing all the way to the bank, and enjoying the fact that their team are now through to the next stage of the Champions League. Pep Guardiola admitted he was well aware of City’s threat before the game and the fact bore this out. As both City and Bayern Munich are the two top scoring football teams in Europe so far this season.

Bayern Munich scored two goals in less than fifteen minutes after the start of the game. At this point in time Bayern Munich fans would have thought Muller and Gotze goals would have been enough to secure an easy win at home, especially with 60% possession. However, David Silva started the revolution with the first goal for City before the end of the first half, and Kolarov scored a penalty early in the second half. Milner then secured the win in the 62nd minutes with a superb strike and proves once and for all that Manchester City are coming of age in European football.

Both teams will be going through to the next round of the Champions League finish level on 15 points each, with Bayern Munich topping the group on goal difference. Even with Bayern top of the group, Pep Guardiola will be wary of the fact that his club last three home defeats in European Competition have all been against English clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Time will only tell whether this statistic will be the difference in who eventually wins the title.

Paddypower still have Bayern Munich favourites to win the title priced up at 13/5, with Barcelona second favourites at 9/2, and Real Madrid is 5/1. Manchester City are fourth favourites at 14/1, and is a very attractive price for the City faithful!
