In India, Lewis stated he wanted to rid himself of all distractions in 2012 and his win in Abu Dhabi has proven the seriousness of his intent. All sportsbook online betting had Vettel as odds-on favourite to win; anyone who took my F1 betting advice last week would have been sitting pretty!
There has been ever-increasing pressure for Hamilton to perform, especially with incidents on and off the track. On the track, we have all seen the aggressive driving (which I love and makes the event more exciting) which has led to penalties and accidents. Lewis also has an ongoing battle with Alonzo and Massa. In addition, Hamilton has sometimes struggled to get the best out his car and tyres together with controlling the race and doing what is required to win.
Off the track, Lewis finally spilt from his world famous girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger due to the pressures of their careers and being apart. There was also the loss of his two of his close friends, which obviously was quite emotionally draining for him. However, his family has always been his strength; the presence of his mother at Abu Dhabi GP proved how strong that influence can be.
For the Brazilian Grand Prix, Bet365 has Hamilton as second favourite (Vettel being evens favourite) to win outright at 5/2. I have to admit, not very good value, but it does show the volume of bets online being stacked on a Lewis win. My best bet would be Hamilton to have the Fastest Lap at 11/4 - come on Lewis!!
