Can Murray Just Do It

The British Number One, Andy Murray, is having a great year. He has won 15 matches in a row and is currently World Number Three.

Andy has recently won three Asian titles. His record so far in Grand Slams has been three semi final (French, Wimbledon and US) and one final at the Australia Open. On this type of form, it would be easy for many of his ardent supporters to have him down to win one of the 2012 Grand Slams.

However, I believe he is far off from winning a Grand Slam. Novak Djokovic and Federer are just too strong. Also, Andy is 24 years old, and most of the successful players would have already started winning Grand Slams in their late teens, early twenties. For example, Roger Federer won his first Grand Slam at the age of 21 (Wimbledon).

Betting firm Bet365 seems to support my claim. Andy Murray is 4/9 to win none of the 2012 Grand Slams. But don’t let me put you off; online betting odds for Andy winning just one of them are 7/4; and if he can win two Grand Slams £10 will give you a return of £190!!
