Can Kauto Star do it for the Fifth Time

Paul Nicholls has confirmed Kauto Star’s entry of the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.

Kauto Star beat Long Run at Haydock to win the Betfair Chase about three weeks ago; so after Paul had a chat with Clive Smith (the owner),it was a no surprise that Kauto would be joining Master Minded for the King George. 888 Sport has Kauto as the 4/1 second favourite; Long Run still the favourite at 11/8 and Master Minded at 9/2.

The question is whether the 11 year old Kauto Star can seemingly do the unthinkable and win the King George VI Chase for a record fifth time. My heart would like Kauto to win; and with Ruby Walsh riding him, he stands a good chance. The crowd will also be behind him on the day, so the atmosphere will be incredible. But my head is telling me that 888 Sport has got it right with Long Run being favourite by a quite some way.

Looking at the entries, my best bet would be Master Minded each way. Daryl Jacob will be riding Master Minded and stands a good chance of being on a winner on the day. I sure that we will see the prices come as the date gets closer, so I would advise anyone looking for value and betting online to put your money down sooner rather than later.

Hopefully, I will get lucky with this tip. Always the way, that once I stick my neck out and name a best bet, it usually means the kiss of death on the selection!
