Betting on Miller Taking Over Rangers

American-based businessman Bill Miller has been given preferred bidder status by Ranger’s administrators, and this should lead to him owning the club shortly.

This looks on course ever since Miller accepted the fact that the bid needed to be unconditional, and it now seems to be a done deal, with completion of the entire transaction targeted for the end of the season. From a personal perspective, this is great news as it would an absolute shame for the Scottish Premier League to lose Rangers, not to mention betting online for the SPL title next year with only Celtic to choose from!

It was revealed that Bill Miller’s bid was much more attractive that the Blue Knights consortium offer, of which Rangers director Paul Murray was part of. The administrators believed that the Miller’s bid would be more of a ‘stable platform’ for the future of the club and would thus guarantee the best return for the creditors.

But there is still work to be done by MIller and his group. Rangers still have to deal with a 12 month ban on transfers, pending an appeal against the Scottish Football Association. Also, since the Scottish Players Football Association is saying players are not legally obligated to sign up to Bill Miller’s grand plan, it maybe that getting a squad together for next season proves to be a bit problematic.

However, the sensible thing for everyone involved would be to get behind whoever takes over the club. The big picture is what is important, which is the survival and success of the club. This has already been voiced by Ally McCoist, so fingers crossed, Rangers will be with us for a long time to come!
