As promised, mid week football was full of twists and turns, with missed opportunities and lucky escapes for all the teams involved.

The Gunners were on form against a strong Everton team, Spurs are still struggling to find their way with four games without a win, Liverpool are now totally out of the reckoning and Chelsea missed the perfect opportunity to stay in the hunt for a top four finish. Betting online as the games played out was fantastic, with anyone keeping faith in Mark Hughes and Mancini being generously rewarded.

According to Harry Redknapp, Spurs have lost their way, but hopefully he should be able to guide back onto winning ways. This is indeed the true test of any great team, and Tottenham need to look at the bigger picture, pick themselves up and prove to their supporters that they can finish above Arsenal. It is very much a real possibility, especially if they can do well at Stamford Bridge and take advantage of a Chelsea team that maybe be physically and mentally exhausted from their game with Manchester City. Arsenal still have to face Man City on the 8th April, so if Spurs can sort themselves out, it maybe that Man City do them a favour later down the line.

Chelsea were also very close in bringing an end to City's unbeaten run at home. Instead, Di Matteo's men lost their nerve, especially after the penalty was awarded to City. The result was a very important one, as it keeps City within touching distance of Manchester United. Not only that, but the way in which the game was played and won, will no doubt boost their confidence and belief that the title is still theirs for the taking.

Mark Hughes QPR come out of the bottom three after their win over Liverpool. Again, the way in which that game was fought and won, will definitely instill the belief in the players that QPR can survive for another year. Also, I am sure it will give Mark a bit of hope and confidence in his ability to get his team out of trouble this year. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be very disappointed and it definitely spells the end of any hope of them finishing in the top four this season.
